Exciting times ahead!
Hi to everyone and a belated happy New Year to all. The
Mighty Persuaders Team have had a good few weeks off and plenty of time to
reflect on what was our busiest year which included some really great wedding
shows and the opportunity to meet and entertain some truly top people. A big
thanks goes out to all the wonderful couples for booking us in 2009!
Now 2010 has landed and we are busier than ever, January alone has produced
nearly 20 wedding bookings and no doubt many more to follow which mean even
more folks will get to enjoy a night with The Mighty Persuaders - Let the adventure
begin.

The Mighty Persuaders Video
Hello to everyone who reads this! Good news the Mighty
Persuaders finally have the promo video online which features some great samples
from our repertoire. We had a blast making it and a big thanks goes to Ant
at Tyrannosaur Media for filming and editing and a thanks to Tom at Jigsaw
studios for doing a top job as usual with the sound.
The whole purpose behind the video is for future clients to be able to see
what we look and sound like live, we get asked all the time "where can
we see you play?" and with 99% of our work being Weddings and private
parties it makes it virtually impossible for people to see us in a public
environment so hopefully the promo will secure even more work in the future.

New for the summer
New songs are being added for the summer, these will include
'Sex on Fire' by Kings of Leon, 'Town called Malice' by The Jam and 'Mr Brightside'
by the Killers. This will be the first time for me performing a Kings of
Leon song so I am looking forward to it and also hoping to do it the justice
it deserves and the same goes to Town called Malice, it's an awesome song
and the lyrics are some of the best written.
With sound volumes being a major concern for many hotels and
other wedding reception venues in residential areas we have decided to incorporate
an electric drum kit into our backline. The volume of natural drums usually
dictates the rest of the bands volume level so where needed we will use an
electric drum kit which allows us to turn up or down accordingly.
The band has also put together an acoustic set as part of
our package. This is ideal for early cocktail receptions providing live acoustic
background music amplified or totally unplugged to entertain our clients
guests.

What a great start to the year, less than a month in and
the dates are booking up fast! It's obviously a busy time for folks organising
their weddings and events and we're very pleased to be a part of them.
New
Years Eve was a fantastic night for the band, we performed at the
Fletton Club in Peterborough which saw the venue set a new record for takings,
and the audience were great, the floor was rammed all night and the highlight
for me was getting Lez the DJ up to perform Auld Lang Syne with us! If everyone
had as much fun as we did then good on you! A big thanks to the club for
having us back for the 2nd year in a row.
Since then the band have had a couple of weeks off taking a well deserved
break charging the rock n roll batteries ready for what looks like an even
busier year than last with our first wedding of the year on Saturday.
The
website is finally starting to take shape and plans for spring include a promotional
video of the band performing live so if your new to the TMP you can see what
we do.
